Carnarvon Holiday & Caravan Park - Things to see and do

The Carnarvon Blowholes were discovered in 1911 and form a natural spectacle as tides force water through sea caves and up through narrow holes in the rocks, causing jets of water to erupt 20 metres into the air. A spectacular afternoon out about 30mins drive from the park.

Celebrating the little-known role Carnarvon played in NASA’s manned space program and in the Australian communications industry as a whole. Focused on the Carnarvon Tracking Station and the OTC Satellite Earth Station, this popular museum is a fascinating insight into in the early years of Australia’s space industry.

Every Saturday morning from May to October, Carnarvon town centre comes alive with the Gascoyne Growers’ Markets. Pick up locally grown fruit and vegetables and meet the producers themselves. Arts, crafts, jewellery, and freshly brewed coffee are also available.

Well worth the two-hour drive from Carnarvon, Coral Bay is a marine lovers paradise. Named for its stunning coral garden only metres from the sand, this unique, laidback location is a must-visit for nature lovers with loads of on and off-shore activities to discover.

Gwoonwardu Mia is the Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Cultural Centre that celebrates the five Aboriginal language groups of the Gascoyne Region. Enjoy touring and permanent exhibitions, café, gallery, Artist-in-Residence program and an ethnobotanical garden and gift shop.

Carnarvon’s central waterway is named after the technique used to construct the embankment on the south arm of the Gascoyne River. A hub for walkers and cyclists, the Fascine is a great place to take a sunset stroll along the Old Tramway Walk or explore the Mangrove Boardwalk.
